Infosys to move from Russia

Bengaluru: Infosys Ltd said on Wednesday it moved its business out of Russia and pursued an alternative option to the background of the Ukrainian conflict.

Some global players and other software including Oracle Corp and SAP SE have been suspended or paused by all operations in Russia.

“Seeing the situation we have started our business transition and all our work from the centers from Russia out of Russia,” said CEO and managing director Salil Parekh while answering questions about the impact of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis on the company’s business in Russia.

Mr. Parekh, who spoke to the media after stating the financial results of the company’s quarter of March, said Infosys had less than 100 employees in Russia.

“We don’t have clients in Russia. The work we do in Russia is for global clients, which we have begun to transition. At this stage we have no impact on our business from the infosc perspective,” he said.

However, he said the company was very concerned about developments in the region. “We are very worried about what happened, on the ground,” Parekh said.

He said the company would help his employees in Russia to move and work in other geography, especially in Eastern Europe.
