Confirmation of Wactor’s death came from his younger brother, Grant, who spoke to local TV station KTLA. Wactor’s talent agent, David Shaul, described him as a “spectacular human being” and a “real moral example” in a statement to Variety. Shaul praised Wactor’s unwavering commitment to hard work and his optimistic attitude in the face of challenges.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers responded to the scene around 3:25 a.m. local time, where they found Wactor suffering from a gunshot wound. It’s reported that he confronted three individuals attempting to steal the catalytic converter from his vehicle, leading to a fatal altercation.
Wactor’s mother, Scarlett, recounted the heartbreaking details of the incident to ABC 7, revealing that her son was leaving work when he encountered the suspects. Paramedics rushed Wactor to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The suspects remain at large, leaving Wactor’s family and friends in mourning. Scarlett expressed her devastation, emphasizing the profound loss her family has experienced. Plans are underway for an autopsy, and Wactor’s family intends to hold funeral services in South Carolina.
